We're all for indulging in a really rich meal at a restaurant every so often. After all, doing so infrequently won't derail your diet (we promise) and well, it's damn satisfying. But there are nine dishes that are so not worth it. The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) just released the nine winners of the 2010 Xtreme Eating Awards, i.e. the unhealthiest dishes you could order.
1. The Bacon Cheeseburger from Five Guys. It has 920 calories and 30 grams of saturated fat. And if you get a side of large fries, add on another whopping 1,460 calories.
2. The Chocolate Tower Truffle Cake from The Cheesecake Factory, which weighs in at 1,670 calories and 48 grams of saturated fat.
3. The Tostada Pizza from California Pizza Kitchen. It sounds healthy because of the black beans and fresh veggies, but it packs 1,440 calories and 2,630 milligrams of sodium—more salt than you should get in an entire day.
4. The Pesto Cream Penne, also from CPK. Even without chicken or shrimp added, the pasta dish carries 1,350 calories, 49 grams of saturated fat, and 1,920 mg of sodium.
5. The Pasta Carbonara from The Cheesecake Factory. Ready for this? 2,500 calories and 85 grams of saturated fat. Just to give you some perspective, that's more saturated fat than the average 30-year old woman should get in five days, according to the American Heart Organization.
6. The Double Pan-Fried Noodles Combo from P.F. Chang's, loaded with 1,820 calories, a little more than your daily recommended amount.
7. The New Zealand Lamb from Outback, with 1,300 calories and 60 grams of saturated fat, not counting the side dishes.
8. The Crab & Shrimp Quesadilla from Chevys. Scarfing down the whole appetizer will add 1,790 calories and 63 grams of saturated fat to your frame.
9. The Cinnamon Cream Stacked & Stuffed Hotcakes from Bob Evans. Here's how they're described on the website: "We take two stuffed hotcakes, stack them with vanilla cream cheese, add more delicious toppings, then finished with whipped topping and a sprinkling of powdered sugar." It all adds up to 1,380 calories and 27 teaspoons of sugar.Refreshing News
